Farmer & Adele Bring Nashville Western Swing to Sacramento
It started with a message one evening.
Farmer Keenan from The Farmer & Adele planning their West Coast tour—Nashville to California, looking to bring their unmistakable Western Swing sound to new audiences. He wanted to know if anything might be happening in Sacramento.
As it turns out, something meaningful was already in motion.

I’d been spearheading the Western Swing Society’s annual Dance & Toy Drive—an event I’ve coordinated since 2021 in my role as Vice President. It’s one of the few longstanding community traditions that consistently celebrates Western Swing here in Northern California. The Society operates on a volunteer basis, which means no one typically receives compensation. But this year, I knew it was time to shift the model.
Artists deserve to be paid. Especially those traveling across state lines to share music that keeps heritage alive. So I’ve chosen to independently produce this performance—personally covering the cost of bringing in our headliners and ensuring the musicians are treated with the respect they’ve earned.
Music, Mission, and Christmas Magic in Sacramento

Farmer & Adele are the real deal. They’ve earned multiple Ameripolitan Awards, their album Into the Wide Open Sky features Grammy-winning musicians, and they host a long-running daily show on WSM Route 650—one of the most iconic radio stations in country music history. Their work blends tradition with innovation, including a touring puppet show that makes Western Swing accessible, joyful, and unforgettable for all ages.
And this December, they’re bringing that magic to Rancho Cordova.
For several Northern California dates, they’ll be backed by Mae McCoy and Her Neon Stars, including the stunning and talented Grace, whose presence brings an added richness to the performance. It’s a collaboration rooted in mutual respect and a shared love for the music.
Because here in the Sacramento Valley, there are still echoes of Bob Wills in the air. You can feel it in the rhythm, in the spirit of the people who still gather each month to keep the dance floor moving. This valley still swings—and it deserves nights like this.
This is what happens when Nashville tradition meets California commitment. When holiday warmth meets national-caliber artistry.
The kind of evening that reminds you why live music matters.
